Thanks for stopping by to check out my daily ‘Blessing of the Day!’  This is my little way of sharing the light and goodness of God in a world that all too often focuses on the darkness.  

Here’s the story behind how this got started: I was spending the day at the beach with a friend, and the day was just glorious. I thought to myself, ‘This is an absolute gift of a day. What a blessing!’  Immediately after that, the thought entered my mind that I could post one thing every day that was a blessing.  It was a strange thought to have, because I’m not very good with social media and rarely post anything, but somehow, I found this to be very appealing. As I envisioned what this might look like, I had the further thought to end each post with ‘How were you blessed today?’  inviting others along on this journey of blessings.  By doing this, I hoped that my own focus might change, so that I would be actively looking each day for God’s blessings, and I also hoped that I might in a small way inspire other people to do the same.

A few days in, I said to my husband, “Is this foolish?  Who am I to think that this would be a good thing to do at all.  Maybe it’s just really silly.”  He responded by saying, “Is that really your thought, or is it coming from somewhere else.”  I then realized that anytime a thought starts with “Who are you to think that…” it’s not really something that is coming from me. So, I decided to keep going despite how I felt.  Since making the decision to persist, I have been amazed by how many people have shared with me how much they enjoy and look for my daily posts.  One friend even started making her own Blessing of the Day posts!  I thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope that these posts are a blessing for you!
