I can’t remember a time when I haven’t loved music, singing or creating art in some form or another.  In fact, one of the earliest thoughts I remember having is when I was four years old, and I had a picture in my mind of me with a microphone singing.  I thought to myself – that’s what I want to do someday.

I began taking piano lessons while I was in elementary school, and then when I was in high school, I joined my parish choir and started taking organ lessons.  I played my first Mass when I was 15 years old, never imagining that this is what I would be doing as a career and vocation.

It’s been a few minutes since I was 15, and since then I’ve recorded two cds of original music: Random Acts of Chaos and Thursdays in the World, performed as a soloist in Sing for the Cure at Carnegie Hall and had my song, “Unbroken,” featured in Sounds of Hope NYC – a 9/11 compilation cd.

But mostly, I’ve been blessed and honored to serve as Director of Music Ministry at my parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary for over 30 years.

Somewhere along the way, I got the notion that maybe I could write songs for church, and in 2020, I had my first song published with Oregon Catholic Press (OCP) – “Behold the Lamb of God!”  

Since that time, OCP has graciously published many of my songs, and in 2026 I was so incredibly honored to receive their Rising Voice Award, as well as being awarded the title of Distinguished Catholic Composer of the Year by the Association of Catholic Publishers (ACP).

I also started to give retreats with my friend and fellow composer, Kathleen Basi.  This is something that I never imagined I’d be doing, and admittedly really resisted initially. I was surprised to discover that it’s something that I actually enjoy doing, and now see it as a way to share in the faith journeys of others, and ultimately as a means of fulfilling my greater mission which is to help people to fall more deeply in love with Jesus, and to come to know the love that God has for them.

I couldn’t do any of this, however, without the support of my amazing husband Russ.  We currently live in Plainfield, NJ and have four wonderful children.  He is the one who takes care of everything – getting our daughter to school, meals taken care of, creating this website for me, helping me when I’m out of my depth in technology issues (frequently), and much more.  We’ve been married for over 25 years, and he is one of God’s best gifts to me.

When I’m not working on music, I’m either teaching art at my daughter’s school, Koinonia Academy, reading or creating artwork – my favorite forms are crochet, glass fusing and seed bead weaving.
